QLD: Farmer finds old human bones

BRISBANE, Aug 22 AAP - Queensland police today started checking old missing persons
files after a farmer found human bones on his property west of Brisbane.

Police said the farmer discovered the bones in a shallow grave in Marburg yesterday.

Spokesman Brian Swift said the bones were still on the site and would be carefully
removed today for scientific examination in Brisbane.

"It's not known how long the bones have been there and police are now cross-referencing
murder and missing persons files to see if there is a link," Mr Swift said.

But he added at this stage not even the gender was known.
