Fed: Protesters plan to turn backs on Olympic torch

Pro-Tibet protesters say they'll turn their backs on the Olympic torch on its relay
in Canberra this month.

They say this will be a peaceful protest that will be seen on television around the world.

Callers to talkback radio stations around the country have suggested the non-violent
action .. after chaotic scenes in Paris this week.

Activist group GetUp has endorsed the plan .. saying a peaceful protest is more effective
than any form of violence.
